Initiated into the Xi Chapter (home of the hymn and prayer) at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio, Bro. Blount’s journey reflects not only longevity, but intentional growth, principled leadership, and an unwavering belief in the responsibility of Alpha men to uplift others.

Bro. Xavier Carr: Service, Creativity, and Brotherhood in Action
Bro. Xavier Carr crossed into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through Gamma Lambda in Fall 2023 as part of the 6 Great Adjos of Khafre.. Known on his line as “Imhotep,” he holds the Quad position. The name reflects both strength and purpose, inspired by the ancient engineer Imhotep, whom Bro. Carr describes as “unbending and unwavering.”
Bro. Carr’s path to Alpha was shaped early in life. Growing up in North Texas, often as the only Black child in his school, he faced racism, housing insecurity, and homelessness. During that time, a Black man stepped in as a mentor and role model, leaving a lasting imprint.

Bro. Paris Wilson: A Journey of Service, Leadership, and Coming Home
Bro. Paris Wilson, initiated through Zeta Delta (Spring 2011) as “Chinzera,” Deuce of PHOUR, brings his passion for service and leadership home to Gamma Lambda. After years of nonprofit and international development work, he returned to Detroit seeking the sense of brotherhood that first shaped him. “I wanted to be something better,” he reflects. “The brothers were polished, driven examples I needed.”
Today, Wilson leads with what he calls “heart work,” including his Ice Cold Clothing Essentials Drive supporting men experiencing homelessness. His message to inactive brothers is simple and direct: “Revisit why you joined the fraternity. Put ego aside. You’re not bigger than the program. Come back home.”
