We are the third-oldest Alumni Chapter in our great fraternity, chartered in Detroit, Michigan, on March 22, 1919. We are committed to the aims of manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. Bro. Xavier Carr: Service, Creativity, and Brotherhood in Action
Bro. Xavier Carr crossed into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through Gamma Lambda in Fall 2023 as part of the 6 Great Adjos of Khafre.. Known on his line as “Imhotep,” he holds the Quad position. The name reflects both strength and purpose, inspired by the ancient engineer Imhotep, whom Bro. Carr describes as “unbending and unwavering.”
Bro. Carr’s path to Alpha was shaped early in life. Growing up in North Texas, often as the only Black child in his school, he faced racism, housing insecurity, and homelessness. During that time, a Black man stepped in as a mentor and role model, leaving a lasting imprint.
