Background: Gamma Lambda Community Development Corporation is a private, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in May 2007 to create programs that educate and enhance the lives of urban, at-risk males. Corporation programs assist urban males in their educational and social endeavors. It is through these programs that Gamma Lambda Community Development Corporation aims to strengthen at-risk families and prevent the generational cycle of poverty, teen pregnancy and educational stagnation.

Community: In Continuation of our legacy of effective collaboration, GLCDC is proud to partner with public and private organizations in an effort to better serve Detroit Michigan and Wayne County African American at risk males in need.
Purpose: The purpose of the Gamma Lambda Community Development corporation is to is to 1) promote and encourage economic development in minority and disadvantaged communities by expanding the opportunities for the residents of those communities to enter into, own, manage, operate and/or be employed in business enterprises which are based upon the substantial participation of the low income community.” Additionally, the CDC’s aim is help at risk males concentrate on the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. School completion heavily impacts the success of young at risks African-American men and is the single best predictor of future economic success. Finally to promote and provide education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases for young at risk males ages 12-15 years.
